Post Test

Today in Human Geo we just took the test and I feel like I did okay on it but I wasn't too sure about some the questions and I couldn't remember what I the answer was. I also kind of saved myself because the answer was Papua New Guinea but it didn't say that, it said like a country north of Australia and I put the fertile crescent because I didn't see that answer. But after I finish the test before turning it in, I made sure that everything was answered and I went back to some of the questions I wasn't too sure about and I reread that one and I changed my answer because I read it again and I realized that it didn't say Papua New Guinea but it was referring too it. There was like I feel like a lot of trick questions on this test.

Reviewing for Guns, Germs and Steel Test on Wednesday

Today in Human Geo we finished the last like 10 minutes of the National Geographic Video about Guns, Germs and Steel and we took some last notes about it. Throughout the video Mr. Schick would pause or stop the video and talk and get more deep about what they were saying. He would also tell us what to write down and tell us and give us hints if that question or note would be on the test. One of the things I definitely remember from the video was the question that Yali ask Jared Diamond. "Why you white men have so much cargo and we new guineans have so little?"

Monday 1/13/20

Today in Human Geo we watched more about the video on guns, germs and steel. I was absent last Thursday and Friday and we probably watched more of the video, I have to check but I got some more notes today. We have a quiz Wednesday, so I'm going to study and try to get a good grade on this to help with my grades right now in this class. Today we took more notes and Mr. Schick would pause the video and talk about it and if we didn't understand it then he would talk about it even more or maybe talk about it in a different way to help us understand it better. Today I learned that there are 14 animals that were domesticated, which is when humans are in total control of them (breeding, feeding, everything). But I'm going to go over my notes and tomorrow we are supposed to talk more about guns, germs and steel and talk about what might be on the test.

12/9/19

Today in Human Geo, we had a quiz about Demographic Transition and I feel like I completely failed that quiz. I guessed on one of the questions I know I got right because we talked about it in class. It was the one about like the rate or something, I can't really remember the question but the answer was 2.1 and the way the question was worded or something but I really didn't understand it but I got it right. I didn't know at the time when I was answering it because I was just guessing because I didn't know if it was supposed to be like a number or a short word answer or something so the only thing that I could remember was the number 2.1. The question had something with fertility or something and the only thing that popped up in my mind when I saw that was 2.1. That's the only question that I can remember that I know that I got right on that.

absent 12/5/19

I wasn't here today in class but it looks like we just talked more about natural increase and death rate and birth rate and total population and that stuff. We probably went over a powerpoint or something, but I'm going to go over some of the powerpoints to make sure I know and understand so that I'm ready for the quiz Monday.

Demographic Transition

Today in Human Geo, it's our first day back from Thanksgiving break and Mr.Schick gave us a packet to read about Demographic Transition. The definition of demographic transition is a process of change in society's population from high crude birth and death rates and rate of natural increases to a condition of low crude birth and death rates, low rate of natural increase, and higher total population.   The first stage of demographic transition is low growth.  Very high CBR Very high CDR Very low NIR  Most of the human history was in stage 1, but today no countries remain in stage 1. Countries are at least in stage 2.  The second stage of demographic transition is high growth. High CBR  Rapidly declining CDR Very high NIR Rapidly declining death rates and very high birth rates produce very high natural increase. After 1750, Europe and North America entered in stage 2 as a result of the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution which involved major i

getting our quizzes back

Today in Human Geo we got our quizzes back that were about the five religions that we learned in like two days. I got a 71% on it and I definitely could have done better but I'm happy with what I got because I feel like if I didn't study for a little bit I definitely would've gotten a way worse score than I did. The numbers I got wrong for the test was 3 and the question was "their writings are collected in the Vedas" and I said Buddhism and the right answer was Hinduism. Another question was 12 and the question was "along with Buddhism, its followers believe in reincarnation" and I said Judaism but the right answer was Hinduism. Question 16 was "along with Buddhism, this is NOT an abrahamic religion" I said Judaism and the right answer was Hinduism. Question 18 was "over 87% of Indonesians practice this religion" I said Islam but the right answer is Buddhism. Question 22 was "Of these five religions, this is probably the oldest
